Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds :: Dig Lazarus Dig

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Dig Lazarus Dig
Anti Records

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds have continued to evolve and move forward from record to record with continuous success. The album opens with the title track, a song that could be so infectious that it keeps you up at night as the chorus repeats itself over and over in your head, or just as easily something that you sing happily but manically as you dig shallow graves to hide the bodies of your previous Millhaven victims. Further into the record, “Albert Goes West” utilizes various melodies and instrumentation that would seemingly never work together; it blends together a tune that could be the most memorable track on the album. Overall, Dig Lazarus Dig sounds like a broad spectrum of examples from the Nick Cave library, which luckily is very extensive. If you like The Birthday Party, Grinderman, and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, you will really be into this record. If you don't like any of those previous bands, well it might be time to let loose and live a little.
