Commander! EP
Forget everything you think you know about electro-punk rock...the future
is here with Commander!, Mose Giganticus’ new EP. In what can be described
only as “future-punk,” Mose Giganticus storms through the four songs that
make up the EP, mixing intricate keyboards, electronics, and synthesizers with
driving and aggressive punk guitars and drums. The songs are then topped
off with brash and abrasive vocals, highlighted by the drone of the infamous
“robot vocals.” While not necessarily a “concept band,” Mose Giganticus
constantly explores the concern that technology has become an unstoppable force, an idea that idea certainly shows itself on this record, especially in the track “Days of Yore.” Commander! is one of those records that cannot be compared to anything else; while there are elements of other bands and artists thrown into the mix, the sound and style of Mose Giganticus stands all by itself and Commander! is a perfect depiction of what makes them so original, and ultimately, so great.
